Direct quote from Sarah Palin’s new book: “If any vegans came over for dinner, I could whip them up a salad, then explain my philosophy on being a carnivore: If God had not intended for us to eat animals, how come He made them out of meat?”

Wow.
That quote is so dumb, I have trouble believing it is true. Ignoring the crux of her argument that veganism is silly (a point which I happen to agree with), this statement is absurd for so many reasons. First of all, humans are not “carnivores.” Humans are considered “omnivores”, as in animals that eat both meat and plants. If you were a carnivore, you would not have that salad at your home to serve.
Second, God made humans out of meat. Does that mean we should eat humans? Is she advocating canibalism?
Finally, wasn’t this book ghost-written? Did they search for a stupid ghost-writer to make her sound like Palin? Shouldn’t the ghost writer (or editor) asked, “Hey Sarah, you mean ominivore, right?”
