Cruel loss
Arizona lost a cruel game today. They were down 16-18 with about two minutes left. They had 3rd and 3 within field goal range (say about the 25 yard line). The QB drops back and passes. The ball is knocked back by a defensive lineman and the QB catches the deflection. He rolls out of the pocket and throws it to one of his receivers for a first down. Flags fly all around. Illegal forward pass, five yard penalty from the spot of the foul and a loss of down. This knocks them out of field goal range and the ball is incomplete on 4th and 17. All because the QB didn’t know he couldn’t pass it twice.
